The story of Romeo and Juliet is considered by many to be a tragedy of two star-crossed lovers and their quarreling families, however, what makes this story a tragedy? Who is blamed for the tragedy in this story? Although there can be many answers to this question, the one to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is the cousin of Juliet, Tybalt. Tybalt is most to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet because of his aggressive nature towards Montagues. As stated in the text, “What, drawn, and talk of peace? I hate the word as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.”(II.63-64).
