Traditional Ugandan masks have an extremely long history. The earliest known masks were created in the Paleolithic age, 2.6 million to 12,000 years ago. Little of the oldest history is known or has been recorded. The masks were used and worn during traditional and ceremonial practices. Some of which included weddings, initiation rites, and funerals.
