Survival Essay
“To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffering.” (Nietzsche) Funding. A will to push through and survive a crisis can cut it. There are factors that can help you survive a crisis. Of these, the most important strengths are mental and emotional strength.
Mental strengths are important because you need to know what to do in a crisis, but you also need emotional strength in order to stay calm enough to properly act on your knowledge and put it to good use. In the novel Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, Louie Zamperini is stranded on a raft during World War 2, when suddenly attacked by a Japanese aircraft. Willie enters the water to avoid the gunfire when he is attacked by sharks. Louie was in desperate need of a solution, to fight off the sharks. Louie remembered the Advice of the Old Man in Honolulu: Make a threatening expression, Stefan Sharks now as the Shark Lounge for his head, and his teeth, widened his eyes and rammed his palm into the tip of the shark's …show more content…
In the short story “To Build a Fire”, by Jack London, a man travels alone deep in the Klondike wilderness. “The old-timer had been very serious in laying down the law that no man must travel alone in the Klondike after 50 below. Well, here he was; he had the accident; he was alone; and he had saved himself. Those old-timers were rather womanish.” Later in the story the man dies because he decided to travel alone. When someone experienced and smart on a certain subject gives you advice you should listen because if you think you are better than them and decide to ignore them,
