In the state of Virginia, there are many laws put in place to protect hard working citizens from being taken advantage of by their employers. One of them being unemployment compensation. When you become unemployed under no fault of your own, Virginia compensates you with temporary financial assistance.

This is also known as unemployment compensation. In order to receive this compensation, you must be fired or laid by no fault of your own, you must have earned at least a minimum amount in wages before you were unemployed, and you must also be actively searching for new employment.

In order to take advantage of unemployment compensation, you must file a claim, keep track of your progress and report to the Virginia employment commission. This
