For many employees, as the discussion post has stated, becoming unionized equates to increased wages, and in essence, this is true, but, there are additional factors that are not necessarily available to the unionized worker. While increased wages is, for the most part, a product of unionization, there is advantages as well as a disadvantage. Consequently, in order for a targeted company to combat its workers from forming a union, it must capitalize on the disadvantage such as there is no direct contact with the organization because of the tenets of representation within the union and the cost as it relates to the employer as well as the employee.
