Managing performance and development, looking at staff members performance and ensuring this is to a good standard. Supervision/1:1’s are a good opportunity to discuss issues with the individual and their work. As a leader, it is important to support and develop your teams in a positive way, ensuring that their needs are met. Ensuring their workload is manageable for them and ensuring they are supported in this. Identifying training areas to support them in their job role, and identifying areas they have strengths and weaknesses’. Managing the relationship between yourself and the staff and also between the staff team, supporting with any negative attitudes and problem solving. In my supervision I ensure that all aspects of the job are covered and each section is discussed, in one section there is a question which asks about the team morale, this is an opportunity for the staff to discuss any issues they may have and for me to support them through this.
