When Alf was talking to me he was in a angry mood I had to calm him down, I responded to Alf in a calm voice so that he will feel that I’m listening to him and to also show that I’m ready to talk to him. I said 'Alf calm down please’ this shows that I was willing to listen to hear Alf’s point but I’m also using manners to make Alf feel safe.

When I was trying to make Alf calm down I touched his shoulders and tried making Alf sit down in the chair so that I can talk to Alf. When communicating with Alf I sat in front of him to show I was listening to him he can see I was concerned about the situation. When Alf was angry and shouting I was standing near him but also giving Alf space.

I used questioning to clarify Alf’s situation. I asked Alf where he last saw his money. I tried to clarify with Alf. I understood he can’t find his money therefore I tried re-capping Alf’s memory by asking Alf questions.
