P6- Explain how to implement safe working practices to ensure the safety of self and others in the aviation industry.
There are many procedures for safe working practice these are all to ensure the safety of staff, employees and their own health and safety. In the aviation industry this is particularly important and employees are often working with heavy machinery or coming into contact with dangerous chemicals and products. This is the reason why a risk assessment needs to be carried out. This is to assess the danger and come up with steps to prevent these accidents and incidents from happening. In total this is a measure for keeping staff safe.

One person is appointed this role. It must be reported to the union who has been appointed this role. A representative should usually have at least two years’ experience doing similar work. This is to make sure that they will have an extensive level of knowledge this ensures they make responsible and practical decisions and make an effective contribution to the health and safety. Sometimes representatives with the most experience won’t be appointed the role this is because the company is new or have a new location. Another reason would be because there is a high turnover of employees in this cause each employee’s skills are taken into account to choose the most appropriate health and safety representative.
