During World War II in the late 1930s-40s, Imperial Japan committed many heinous war crimes. Among those crimes, there were several biological and chemical experiments conducted on war prisoners; the majority of these prisoners were Chinese. Though there were many experiments, Unit 731 was notoriously known for its horrific crimes that were estimated to take the lives of around 3,000 to 12,000 war prisoners.
