Introduction CE3.1 In this third and final episode, I would like to describe my involvement and contribution in the Group Project, which was to design an efficient network architecture at The Australian National University for increasing the performance and reliability of the existing network. This group project was done as part of the course assessment for “Digital Systems and Telecommunications” at The ANU and extended from July 2015 to May 2016 under the guidance of the project convenor Dr. Robert Lyle. I had the role of Design Engineer in designing a high performing and an efficient network, according to the project requirements.

I proposed the system engineering management plan as the best way to find requirements and solutions for our project. System engineering plays a vital role in developing a basic foundation for our project.

CE3.8 our group decided that everyone should propose different project requirements that they consider to be vital in designing and developing this project. After a careful analysis and information gathering, we devised ten most important requirements which were considered as the building block of this project. As a network design engineer, the requirements which I proposed for the system (project) are shown below:
• A new wireless subsystem design which can be merged with the existing wireless network of The ANU for increasing the performance.
• The system should be designed especially to withstand any security threats within the system or outside system.
• High-gain antennas to cover the existing coverage holes and to provide uninterrupted and seamless connectivity of internet
