US 1010: College and Career Success Sec: 19
Degree Discovery Day For my campus report I decided to take an occupational approach to my event. What better event to attend to get career information than Degree Discovery Day. The DDD took place in the Milo Bail Student Center's Ballroom, on September 17 from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. My friend and I went together because we both take a First Year Seminar class, and we also have to do the same project. I did not get out of my Spanish class until 11:20 that Wednesday morning, so I met her around 11:30 at the student center. First off, we had no clue where the ballroom was located, so it took us about five minutes to find it. After we became aware of where it was, I realized I did not have my MAV card with me. Fortunately, the sponsors let me sign in manually instead of having to walk back to University Village to grab it. When I finally got the chance to look around at the different degree programs, I found the event to be greatly beneficial. Since I am majoring in Psychology, that was my first stop. I learned so much more about the program here. The most interesting information was that UNO's Psychology program is very competitive. The program only accepts three to four students a year, therefore I really have to be on my A game. I also enjoyed the Black Studies and Business degree tables. One thing I found awesome was that there was a drawing for a free parking pass. I don't drive but I
