I personally walked away from the event on Thursday with a greater understanding of what undocumented students go through in pursuing their education. In all honesty, the talks at the mini symposium did not relate much to my personal experiences at NJCU. I have always been aware of the diversity on campus over the last three years. However, the struggles of undocumented students is something new to me. The speakers presented many reasons why some of these students were struggling in pursuing their higher education goals. Additionally, some of our class assignments are related to what some of the speakers were talking about.
