In “The Science of Psychology,” written by Bruce H. Hinrichs emotional Intelligence is defined as the ability to deal socially with self and others using emotional skills; promoted by Daniel Goleman, whom is an internationally well-known psychologist and New York Times science journalist. Goleman with a decade’s worth of behavioral research into how the mind processes feelings, redefine what it means to be smart and behavioral sciences through many lectures as of today. Goleman thesis: When it comes to predicting people’s success, brainpower as measured by IQ and standardized test may actually matter less than the qualities of mind once thought of as “ character” before the word began to sound quaint. In Goleman book he never used the exact words EQ, but did approve an “unscientific” EQ test with choices like “I am aware of even subtle feeling as I have them.”
Upon reading an article "The EQ Factor" it was stated that a marshmallow experiment was taken place the participants were four-year-old children. The task was simple they have the permission to eat the marshmallow, but if they waited until the man got back from running an errand they could have two marshmallows instead of one. What I think of the concept of EQ, this the right use it could really benefit and impact many people not just companies one who should decide whom to hire, but as well as decreasing the amount of divorce in the US and how the best way to disciple children, how to cope with the feeling he have, how not act with impose ,but reasoning, decrease the amount of violence not just in schools but in place like prison and focus on the thing that truly
