Although paying what artists deserve for the art they create seems like the right and fair thing to do watching the video just showed how unfair and incredibly difficult it really is because of the change in the industry itself, but the internet advances that give ways to rescue efforts music for free. I do feel that another reason as to why I feel really strong about this topic is because I know someone who is trying to get into the rap/hip hop industry and although he is very talented it is difficult in someways to actually make money for himself and his family through just music so he has to work a job that has nothing to do with his passion. For an artists to only make a few cents for certain amounts of plays a month is ridiculous. Especially Spotify because unlike other systems in which to receive music Spotify does not have any settings or packages that make the people who want to use their site pay ahead of time to be able to even listen to the music they have. I immediately was reminded of Lady gaga when reading this. Although in that short clip we watched in class she never talked about no making her fair cut of money she talked about how being in today's music industry made her feel like her creativity was left in on the back burner and that she was just a money machine for others. Which makes complete sense because in a
