I believe that there is positive and negative selfishness, which of course depends on the situation. If a man steals from his son’s college funds to go buy himself a new fancy car that’s negative selfishness, but if a guy pushes someone out of the way of a car to save the other person instead of himself that’s positive selfishness. So, the question is, “Is there actually good or evil people in the world?” There’s no scientific evidence to prove it. All it really is, is a simplified explanation for the way humans behave. I personally don’t believe in evil people, I believe there are deranged people, there’s plenty of other explanations than to say that the person is “evil”, like a personality disorder or mental disorder, but the argument of there being absolutely no evil in the world is hard because people kill each other, torture each other, and sometimes even eat each other. So, why do people kill? I think it’s because we aren’t so much more evolved from our primitive ancestors like we like to think we are.
They kill because those behaviors go beyond the necessity to survive, but would seem “evil” to our human mortality. So, why do we do the things we do? I think it’s because sometimes we behave in ways we can’t and
