Most myths have a message that is to be conveyed or a lesson to be learned from the events. Characters in these stories often act on impulse or make immoral choices, as seen in the Creation myth. Uranus, the supreme ruler, threw his children into the abyss because he was afraid of their strength. However, this worked against him as his son, Cronus, overthrew him. Uranus had tried to fight against fate, but in the end he had failed. This particular myth tells it’s reader about how a person’s fate is set in stone and can’t be changed, even with precautionary measures.
