Continental army camped during the winter and spring of 1777–1778 in the Valley Forge.The American Continental Army made camp during the winter of 1777-1778 in the Valley Forge. It was here that the American forces became a true fighting unit. THen when the army was ready in the spring the are ready to fight .Valley Forge most of the time is called the birthplace of the American Army.
THe Three grateful men helped the army throughout the winter.The leaders who helped the soldiers get through the harsh and devastating were George Washington, Friedrich von Steuben, and Marquis de Lafayette.
