Although a vampire bat does drink blood it only makes a small slit in the skin to get the blood, they use their razor sharp front fangs to suck up the blood.

You will usually find the bats in about 30 to 150 bats where larger numbers are very rare,normally you will find about 8 to 12 females that will roost together on a very regular basis and the single males will be roosting separately of course they will have to defend there territory of these bats they share their meals.

The coat of the vampire bats are a dark grayish to a reddish or golden color lighter or paler on the stomach and females are just a little larger than the males.

The mating habit of a vampire bat is like this they mate year round with births mostly in April and may then again in October and November most bat females have just one baby per year although they can have more than one …show more content…
The common vampire bat ranges from Northern Mexico through Central and South America, Chile in the west and all the way to Uruguay in the east it likes tropical and subtropical places. They can also be found in deserts making homes in caves,mines, tree hallows and sometimes abandoned buildings.

The vampire bats has very strong legs and clawed thumbs that are at the end of its wings and it has two pointy front sharp teeth it walks on its hid legs and wrists a bat can climb,fly,walk,and jump as well as hopping.

They like to eat livestock such as cattle,pigs,and dogs seeings how there are usually so many of them in large groups and occasionally they will feed on humans. They only make a slit in the skin to gain assess to the blood though.
