My placement for next year will be in Berlin NJ at a recovery house called Liberty Wellness Center. This facility focuses on outpatient treatment for individuals battling substance abuse. Their primary focus is on outpatient treatment, providing a structured program for those who can maintain residence outside of a facility while attending regular therapy sessions and participating in recovery activities. This facility operates as a for-profit business within the private sector. Partnering with advocacy groups can help bridge the gap within communities, offering invaluable resources and expertise. “An effective advocacy group tries to shape the agenda of policy advocates by pressuring them to consider solutions or problems, presenting research that underlines the importance of addressing specific social needs, and publicizing stories in the mass media that dramatize certain issues.
