I would have to go to college for another six years, and that is something I really don’t want to do. I understand that a big disadvantage of only being a technician is that you make 60,000 less than a veterinarian does, but I have always heard that if you choose a career for the money, you will hate it. An advantage of being a technician is that I can be making money two years out of high school that I could potentially live off of as an adult. I can reduce the time spent in college by starting my vet technician courses while I am still a junior in high school. That really isn’t something that people can do for a PhD.
