The difficulties that those with mental conditions face can even lead to suicide. According to a recent VA study, about twenty-two veterans successfully commit an act of suicide each day. Thats 8,030 suicides a year, and thats not even counting the amount of attempted suicides that happen. After this information was released, there was a sudden flare of studies on veteran suicide rates because people wanted to know how long this problem had been so big. One such study matched military records with the suicided found in the National Death Index during the years 2001 through 2007. The results found "A total of 1,868 suicides.
