Vetter (2012) study was an investigation into the changes that occur to Grace, a fifth year teacher, in a practitioner research group during a year. Grace was one of three participants in a three-year research project called the Triad Teacher Researchers (TTR). Data was collected from meetings using interviews, recordings of meetings, PowerPoint presentation, manuscript about Grace’s second study and observation with field notes (Veer, 2012). The study is a case study. A case study is used to study one person with a specific time and place in mind (McMillan, 2012). Veer (2012) chose to study Grace to better understand the change that occurred to Grace over the year. The study’s purpose is to better understand the one participant’s perspective during the process of a practitioner research project, making it a case study (McMillan, …show more content…
“ Veer (2012) coded the data into a chart of all four areas, allowing for readers to better understand each category. Each category is given a description and an example. The examples use direct quotes from Grace (Veer, 2012). For contemplating and imaging new positions, the study discusses two meetings when Grace is developing a research question. The author then validates the category with discussion supporting the title of contemplating and imagining new positions (Veer, 2012). Veer (2012) triangulated data sources and preformed a member check to provide credibility and trustworthiness. Triangulation is when data is collected from different sources and used to see the reliability of a data collect from the researcher (McMillan, 2012). The researcher for this study used the data from field notes, interviews, recordings, and artifacts to triangulated the data collected (Veer,
