Located in Vik, Iceland along the south coast of Iceland. Its full name, Vik í Myrdal still holds the title to be the biggest village in the southernmost part of Iceland with only 300 residents. The reason the sand is black is because it originated from the basalt lava that covers much of the area. Not only does the sand interest me, but the 68 meter high boulders and the staircase type rocks that go up the hillside. Along with the different terrain, a beautiful waterfall with hidden caves and oddly placed rock formations really make you think how they got there or were formed. The thought of such different scenery urges me to go. This area inspired me because of its beauty and different
