“A Pair of Shoes” by Vincent Van Gogh Looking at this painting the title explains part of it what it is, a pair of shoes. The paint strokes make the shoeslookdirtyandwornout.Broken,folded,creasedlacesfallingout.WhatI feel when I keep looking at this is a melancholy feeling. The colors that are presented are dark and not bright. A black, brown, and hints of yellow to show some of the light and dirt on the shoes. What really makes it that feeling is the way the shoes are folded and the laces are out.
Makes me wonder if Van Gogh really wanted his viewers
