I agree with the arming of the Virginia Militia on the grounds that it was a planning for the equipped clash with the British government. Without an armed Militia the meeting within the British government and the Virginia Militia would have never occurred. This meeting started the beginning of the Revolutionary War. It likewise motivated other settlers to take more initiative to oppose the British power. In the event that the Battle of Lexington and Concord had never occurred, then the colonists would have never realized that they had the Military power to face the most powerful nation in the World. Because of such reasons it was important to arm the Virginia Militia; if not American autonomy may have never happened. Parliament made every effort for Great Britain to financially gain from trade with the colonists. This becomes evident when they establish the Navigation Acts. Another illustration of their endeavors to attempt to benefit from the colonists was the implementation of the Tea Act. So basically the English applied a few types of taxation to get money from the colonists, which rankled them even more, the government then attempted to pacify them with nullification of the Stamp Act and with the repeal of the Townshend Act. Despite the fact that the British attempted to appease the colonists by annulling a few acts, they needed to make the point that the English still had control over them so they passed the Declaratory Act. Also the colonists had other reasons than just taxation that lead them to declare independence. These reason were because the unjust and hostile activities of Britain toward their own colonies.
