My final project was on a volunteering project based on Jesus. I have been on many volunteer projects, and they were not the same as this one. The only thing about this project is that its’ about religions. I started out think it was going to just be feeding people and clean up and be done. Then really it was so much different then what I thought it was going to be like. I got into the volunteer work then realized about half way through how much it was so different than others I have been to.
The start of volunteering was making food and setting up. The location we had it at was at Killip Elementary School. The location was warm, safe, welcoming, and very open to anybody. It was not like you had to watch how bring yourself, it shows no matter what you look like or seem to be, you were beautiful. The environment with everybody inside was very happy and just excited to eat. The area was not a school it was mentioned as a church or the house of the lord. You need had to have the respect of the ground as a school also.
The day started out cloudy and it started to rain about the time we started serving everyone. The weather told a lot about how happy the lord was with the great special day. When it rained I was told it meant that the day was a special …show more content…
Then while serving and while they were eating, they enjoyed a little preaching from a priest. Then a man came up and talked about god and how the creator was started. The stories were a lot related to all the religions I learned in class. He spoke in Hebrew also it was very nice, and enjoying the stories. The priest was African American and came and spoke his language while reading out of the bible, and preaching all the goodness to all in the room. Then there was Navajo flute player who came and performed beautiful music and added humor to it all it was very beautiful. It was all so nice about how they interrupted all the religions in one
