My research was on the Vulpine (foxes) family. There are 7 genus in the Vulpine family and 25 species total. I have decided to do my project on three foxes from three different genus to compare and find similarities and differences between them. My three foxes are the Island fox, the Raccoon dog fox, and the Corsac fox. The genus are Urocyon, Vulpes, and Nyctereutes.
The Island fox is from the Urocyon genus with two other foxes (the Gray and Cozumel fox.) They live in the USA on the 6 channels off of the coast of southern California. The fox feeds on small animals such as birds, reptiles, insects and fruit. In order to catch their prey they need to be quick over grasslands.
