Oh, Waldo Where is Waldo? That is something I asked myself over and over again as I young child while I sat down in the waiting room of the doctor's office and looked at pages upon pages of pictures that all contained hundreds of little tiny people hunting for that one tiny man, Waldo. In the dictionary it defines Waldo as a manipulator, however as a child I never felt manipulated for overlooking him, I felt guilty that it took me so long to find someone that stands out so brightly.He wears a bright red and white sweater with a matching stocking cap yet always seems to blend in. So is he really manipulating us or have we trained our brains to look over something that stands out in plain sight because it is the polite thing to do? Is he truly just a fictional character or does he represent a group of people within our society?…show more content… We were all told to ignore the differences, yet by ignoring the differences it can lead to the person becoming ignored and being isolated. You are not just ignoring the differences to seem polite you are ignoring what makes the person unique and themselves. Waldo stands out for being different in the crowd of people who all seem to be going through the motions, everyone looks and acts the same, yet it always seems impossible to find him. As a society we have brain washed ourselves into ‘ignore the differences’ instead of realizing them and accepting each other for who we are and loving one another for those differences. Whether it be skin color, hair color, gender, age, wealthy vs. poor, intelligent vs. unintelligent, dancer vs. non dancer, etc., everyone brings something unique to this world and instead of it being ignored it needs to be
