Walter Payton was an American football running back who was drafted from Jackson State University, he was an All-American running back with 598 rushing attempts, 3,600 rushing yards, and 63 touchdowns.as the fourth overall pick. He was picked by the Chicago Bears where he earned 9 Pro Bowls during his 13 seasons in the league. With 16,726 rushing yards, 110 rushing touchdowns, and 3,838 rushing attempts. Payton Incorporated dealt in various businesses including real estate, travel, and nursing homes. The company was part owner in 20 restaurants and clubs worldwide. In 1988, Payton joined the board of directors of the Chicago Bears. Walter and his wife, Connie, were married on July 7, 1976 and had two children Jarrett, December 26, 1980 , and Brittney, December 26, 1980.
