Was 1984 right that the world will become like Big Brother with what their doing with technology? With all the advances in technology made these days, is it right to believe that it will be used in bad ways, and I say of course it is. After very advancement made their is a way that it will be used in bad ways. This is just like what the government is doing with the technology they are given. They use cameras to spy on what we do with our PRIVATE time, they look at us through our phone and other electronics camera and this is spying on us. We have a right to live our life without getting watched after every move we make, even if it isn't bad.
In the novel Winston lives in fear of the telescreen, of being watched and being arrested for doing something they consider to be bad. He tries to resist the telescreen and being watched, but ends up being taken in at the hands of surveillance. Winston's world applies to us now. Everything we say is being heard somewhere by someone, like Winston. “Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper,would be picked up by it,moreover;so long as he remained within the field which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well heard.”
