I think Frederick Turner Jackson's Frontier Thesis is correct. I believe that our frontier has played a huge role in differing Americans from their European origins, and that America should expand more. However, on page 584 it states, "...the thesis underscores the pervasive racism and disregard for the indigenous communities, cultures, and individuals in the American borderlands and beyond." Though I agree with his thesis, I do want to acknowledge its downfalls, like how it ignores the atrocities America has done to obtain the frontier. I also don't agree with some of the ways land was added to our nation. For example, Filipinos fought for their independence in a war against America since the senators felt the need to maintain America's presence
