In the faraway lands of what is now known as China in the year 259 B.C.E, a legend was born. His name was Ying Zheng. At the young age of 13, Ying Zheng soon found himself as the ruler of the Qin state. Not long after that, he soon united the 6 rival states and became the ultimate ruler of what is now known as China. His new name is now, Qin Shi Huang Di (First Emperor of Qin). However, this leaves the question, was he also an effective ruler just like how he effectively wiped out his foes? The answer is, yes, Qin was an effective ruler. Firstly, Qin was effective in his efforts to protect the northern border of China. The Chinese wall that he constructed to protect his country “Proved extremely effective at stopping invasions (236 T.C.I).”
