Dropping the Atomic bomb had saved the lives of several people, including the Japanese. The Japanese had been brainwashed into thinking that if the Americans had come to Japan, they would have been tortured, and brutally murdered. So, every single Japanese citizen, was willing to fight to the death to “protect” their country. When the Japanese began to lose the war, the emperor recommended his people to kill themselves, in order to escape persecution. With this kind of resistance, a ground invasion of Japan was highly unlikely, because it would have resulted in mass casualties on both sides. Likewise, as the Japanese imperial military progressed through China, they constantly killed the people living there. The US could not sit back and watch our allies being murdered anymore.
By using the atomic bomb, the US had promptly ended the war with Japan. The US had warned the Japanese multiple times, telling them to acknowledge the Potsdam Declaration, which clearly outlined the process of a peaceful surrender. Likewise, the US had threatened Japan, saying that if they did not yield to the declaration, The alternative for them was “prompt and utter destruction”. Even after these threats, the Japanese did not even consider surrender. Left with no choice, the US had decided to use nuclear weapons, to bring the 6 year war to an end. Even after the first bomb drop in Hiroshima, Japan still didn’t back down. Only after the second bomb drop in Nagasaki, had the Japanese spirits broken, and the military had realized that if they didn’t surrender, Japan would cease to exist. In this way, the US had finally ended the war in the Pacific.
Finally, the use of the atomic bomb has ruled out the chance of any future wars from taking place. Since the United States had decided to possess and produce a nuclear weapon,
