Hello, my name is Rylan Krietemeyer. Have you heard of Washtenaw Dairy? Many people have heard of Washtenaw Dairy, but few people realize the contribution of Washtenaw Dairy to Ann Arbor. Washtenaw Dairy was one of the first dairy distributors and was/is still used today as one and now is not only a dairy distributor but also an ice cream/donut shop.Washtenaw Dairy should be preserved for the next 100 years because it has been cherished for generations, has a lot of historic value, and is overall one of Ann Arbor's favorite local business ice cream shops. Washtenaw Dairy was created in 1934 on Ashly St. Washtenaw Dairy is a family owned business that is owned by the Laubengayer family, now the…show more content… Washtenaw Dairy was one of the first dairy delivery services and was used a lot to get milk deliveries and is still used as such today, but as I said already it is now more so known for its ice cream scoops and fresh donuts. Washtenaw Dairy is important to Ann Arbor because it is one of the most hot spots for hanging out, from getting something to eat or just talking and hanging out outside. There are many things we have to thank Washtenaw Dairy for over the years, from delivering to us and saving the day with a savory treat at a birthday party/event, to giving us our milk in the morning. Washtenaw Dairy has a long line of legacy from generations upon generations of people with thousands of memories of Washtenaw Dairy. The memories could be of having your first birthday there or just overall very fond memories of hanging out with old friends at Washtenaw Dairy. We would have never had the wonderful memories of Washtenaw Dairy if it never existed, and we would not have the joy of it without Edwin Laubengayer buying Washtenaw Dairy all those years ago. A second reason why Washtenaw Dairy should be preserved for the next 100 years is because it has a lot of sentimental value to all of the people in Ann Arbor and is a very warm and welcoming place.
