The Boston Massacre wasn't at all a "massacre"; just some American civilians who taunted at some British soldiers. After taunting, in anger, the civilians pelted snowballs at the soldiers who took it as an attack and shot back with guns, injuring and killing many. This was definitely a tragic misunderstanding, but Paul Revere saw this as much more. He saw innocent citizens being shot, and the British being able to do this freely could go on no longer. His plan was simple; depict a story much more tragic and call it a Massacre to get attention on a small issue which was much bigger in the big picture.
