Why do you wish to serve the Western Band in the flute section leader position?

I wish to serve the Western Band as a section leader for the flutes of the 2024 marching season. My passion for music has grown nothing but since I joined the Westerner Band my freshman year. I have loved and appreciated every moment that I have gotten to spend with the band these past 2 years, whether it was for a marching band or concert. I have participated and dedicated my time to being an active member of the Western Band. I truly believe that I will be beneficial to the band as a section leader. One of the main reasons I want to serve the band is to give back to the community that has given me so much. This band has single handedly given me so many opportunities,

We worked really hard this year and dedicated countless hours in practicing or even volunteering with the band, but through it all balance was very important in order to keep my grades up. What I am trying to say is that Band has taught me many skills which I will carry with me throughout my life. And I am sure that if I step into a leadership position, the Western band will continue to surprise me and benefit me in more ways than one. Band is a group effort which requires consistency and coordination to truly strive. I would love to be a bigger part of the band as a leader and play a part in accomplishing these goals. Throughout the year, I have improved significantly in aspects of being a leader. For example, I have received an officer position in the Lubbock High NHS (National Honors Society) as the Vice President of Social. This opportunity that was presented to me from the school assures me that I am a good fit for the leadership position in the Western Band.
