One of the major tribes that sacked Rome was called the Goths. The Goths were not just one big group they were actually two groups. Group one was named the Visigoths, the second group was the Ostrogoths. Romans fought the barbarians at the borders of the Roman Empire for many years. The Visigoths were the part that sacked the Western Part of Rome in 410. This problem could have led to economic troubles. Economic troubles and overreliance on slave labor are one of the other things people say lead to the fall of Rome. Even as Rome was under attack from outside forces, it was also crumbling from the financial crisis. The economy of Rome also dependent on slave labor.
