He starts to cry after the Count using the machine on him. From the beginning of the book, the reader has been known to believe that Westley is both psychically and mentally strong. This moment really shocks most readers. Readers might question if Westley will be strong enough to continue.
This question was directed towards Princess Buttercup by Prince Humperdink.The wedding was approaching fast. Buttercup went to ask the Prince if he had heard anything from Westley. However, Humperdink never actually sent the letters that told Westley to come back to buttercup. The prince just wants to get into Buttercup’s head and get her to marry him without any arguments. Nonetheless, Buttercup still believes that he is coming back to save her.
This is a tough question because it could either destroy Buttercup’s life or make her the happiest person in the world. This quote was one of Buttercup’s thoughts. She was thinking to herself about how much she disliked the Prince and how she wished she could marry Westley instead.
