Human cloning is unethical because the process to create a clone is not a natural process and it vitiates humanity. As we move forward into the new age of technology, scientists, after many failed attempts, have developed the first cloned animal named Dolly. Shortly after, Dolly died prematurely. All across the globe, scientists are making efforts to create the first cloned human being without considering any of the consequences. Cloning, with its life saving possibilities, is a promising breakthrough that should be utilized for solely medical purposes; and strict regulations are necessary to preserve morals and genetic diversity as well as prevent potential harms to the world …show more content…
It is thought of by many that individuality is the most important part of life. After a person is born individuality is considered a right to have for the rest of your life. A big fear though is that the clone may only made to live the life that was intended for the clone, therefore causing severe emotional damage as well pain and suffering for the clone. The development of the clone may be imperfect; the expansion of ideal development will die off slowly. Evolution could possibly come to a standstill, because with the progression of clones diversity will become more limited and there will not be nearly as many progressions in society. Animals along with humans run the risk of harming their species with the use of cloning. Cloning animals through somatic cell nuclear transfer is very inefficient especially because the success rate ranges from 0.1 percent to 3 percent (Genetic Science Learning Center). If cloning continued the cells in all humans and animals will eventually all be the same and there will not be any diversity or process of natural
