Milton Friedman had many substantial accomplishments and achievements that largely impacted United States economics. Milton was an advocate for personal liberties in economics and a free market which had very little government intervention. It is due to these ideas that social security privatization has increased. In the 1970’s, Milton Friedman was able to end the military draft. Instead of drafting, he created the volunteering based military still used in the United States today. Despite this major accomplishment, Friedman is mostly known for his breakthroughs in economics. He created multiple theories about the economics of the Great Depression, unemployment, inflation, and exchange rates. Friedman also wrote approximately 30 different books
