According to childrenrights.org there are more than 400,000 children waiting to get adopted in foster care. Which is not even taking into account the many more thousands of kids around the world who don’t have a home. The question in play here is: should single people should be able to adopt as easily as married couples? Before deciding this, one has to look at both perspectives. There is the side of the single people who want to give a home to a child, and there is the side of those who feel that a single home is not enough for the needs of the children who are up for adoption. Both sides have valid points and this essay should serve as a means of helping one come to a conclusion on what is the right thing to allow.

And the argument of those who are against the adoption by a single parent is that a single parent will not have enough time for the child since they would need to work enough to provide income for both themselves and the child. Which is the reason for which if a single person is given the chance to adopt, they are usually given a preteen or teenager instead of a smaller child.
