Both the USA and Mexico have very different lifestyles, they each have their own advantages and disadvantages. I prefer my life in Mexico, I’ve lived in both the USA and Mexico the major differences are careers, food, and traditions. Careers in the USA are easier to come by. A person can graduate high school and go directly into the workforce and make a good living for themselves. College is also easier to get into if that person has the right grades. While in Mexico trying to get a job without a college education would be financially unstable. Having a college education in Mexico will take you highest positions of your job and help you get paid more. Going directly into the workforce after high school in Mexico can lead to extreme poverty. My life here in the USA is completely different. I have the opportunity to attend college and get a higher education which wasn’t available to me in Mexico. There's a tradition for everything and every tradition requires a party or a baile (dance). Every other weekend was spent gathered with family making food and preparing for a party. After being here in the Us for about four years we've had a party maybe three or four times a year. Here in the us only the major holidays are celebrated. One of those examples is El Día le Los Muertos, (Day of the Dead). People would dress up in bright colors and paint their faces and have a parade. People then visit their deceased family members and take them the things that they liked while they were alive. Essentially in Mexico, they are celebrating the death and what comes after death. While here in the US the holiday that is equivalent to Day of the Dead is Halloween. Halloween is seen as a day to dress up as other people or fictional characters and going out to get candy.
