The events during The Crucible and Hurricane Katrina both serve to demonstrate that fear can cause a lot of bad decisions and actions to be made; for example, in The Crucible, the fear of witchcraft led to a lot of people being falsely accused of it which lead to them getting hanged even though they were innocent and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina left a lot of people homeless because of the destruction that it causes which made a lot of people move away which lowered the population of New Orleans because of the fear people had that it would cause them to be re- happen again to them.
