Dante's inferno's levels representation of the time is cultural in the aspect of who Dante places in the levels, religious because of his journey in hell for redemption, and literary because the epic poem is in a book. Dante's inferno is an important concept because of the representation of the epic poem is a reflection of Dante Alighieri's view of hell.

Dante Alighieri's "The Inferno" is a moral representation of how Dante viewed the possibility of a Christian afterlife. Specifically an afterlife in for those who did wrong in their lifetime.
