Most children do not have shoes or proper clothes here; and kids see other kid workers get killed by parts in the factory or accidents. The whirlwind of emotions that have run through their heads must have been horrible. Thinking "at least that was not me, to I can't believed they just died like that." These things used to happen all the time to children who use to work in the factories. Considering how these pictures replicate and show what Mary was telling her Father in the letter. Children who worked in the factories only got $6.60 per payment and their room and board took up $4.68 of their payment. Then they would have barely any money left to buy what they need to survive or to protect themselves from the factory elements. The kids do not get enough sleep for the factory work that they have to get done. Time goes on as children would get more sleep deprived as the factory boss would work the children harder. The conditions get worse and so do the kid's health and they start to go away.
