Club IT Part One
Club IT is a 6000 square feet downtown music venue that is owned and operated by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. Lisa and Ruben had the club remodeled, which now offer a 600 square feet dance floor, seating for 220 people, a kitchen, and a bar with four pour stations. The business is doing okay financially but there is a problem with the information management covering. I have been hired as an intern to help Ruben and Lisa analyze information capabilities. A few friends and I visited the club on a Friday evening; the club was exciting, refreshing, and observable. The next day I met with Ruben and Lisa to discuss my results of the club and what information I could provide to them for Club IT to remain a success. Club IT’s mission is as quote, “We, Ruben and Lisa offer you live music, DJ’s, dance space, and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT”. (Wiley, 2011) Since Club IT offer different types of music, clientele consists of different types of customers: college students, business women and men, and the local community. I observed the club information on the website. From my observation there is a lack of communication and contact information available. I viewed the music, merchandise, staff layout, menus, and employee portals. I suggested that Lisa and Ruben need to implement a customer-orientation strategy that will allow customers and employees to have a better and more accurate relationship with the organization. In American businesses customers are always right even when they are wrong. Customers are the number one pressure of a business s along with Information Technology Systems (IT).Information technology relates to any computer-based tool that people use to work with information and to support the information and information processing needs of an organization. (Rainer, 2008) Information Technology Systems will help the owners provide a better service for their business. The business can gain access to their competitors; they can become more efficient to everyday life and know the people wants and needs. I’m thinking from my observation that the employee uses a dial-up connection to interact with Club IT. Club IT information system can provide the customer and employees with information worldwide. Employees can handle job related situation that they usually would had to go into the office personally to solve. Customers
