Hegemonic masculinity is the condition in which men are dominant and privileged however it is invisible. Patriarchy is a universal system involving the subordination of femininity to masculinity. This I think was much more popular years ago however it is still present today. I think in some countries this is more popular than others. I do believe there is still that underlying thought that the “normal traditional” family is a mom, dad and children. Mom does the kid stuff, cleans, and cooks. Dad goes to work and makes the money. However, society is slowly changing this. As we are advancing in technology, beliefs, expectations, delegations, equality and religion we are seeing these concepts do not hold the value they held
