As years passed, she rekindled her relationship with Diego Rivera and on August 21, 1929, they got married in a civil ceremony at the town hall of Coyoacan. However, they had a rocky marriage. Both partners had affairs outside of their marriage and they were separated a few times. An interesting fact that I discovered about her is that her affairs didn’t only consist of men only, but also women. Bearing in mind that she grew up in a religious home, she was bending the rules of her sexuality. Nevertheless, Kahlo and her husband had peculiar ways of showing love for each other considering that they slept in different beds while being married.
