In the book of the witch of blackbird pond kit shows her loyalty to the wood family,prudence,hannah,nat and herself.in the beginning a girl from barbados named kit boarded a ship to weathersfield then the books introduces nat the captain's son then they set off to sea when a kid dropped her doll in the water and then kit dropped her stuff and jumped in the water to retrieve the doll for the little girl but then she noticed that nat had jumped in to get kit but then when they got back in the boat kit that she can swim. then nat said that he had no other clothes than what he had on but he said he jumped in because he thought she fell in not jumped in. then when she gets to wethersfield goodwife cruff invites her to dinner because she thinks she is a witch but kit tells the captain that her aunt and uncle doesn't know that she is coming. so the captain escorts her to her uncle and aunts. then drops her luggage off the leaves. the we are introduced to aunt rachel, uncle she tells them that she is going to live there then they ask why didn't she write to them in which she replies that she was scared to write because they might have said no and they assured her that they would have said yes if she would have written.
