The GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters) which is essentially the British equivalent of the NSA not so surprisingly has a good working relationship with its American cousin. The “intercept” showed in 2015 that both organizations working together were able to get into the database of the world’s largest sim card manufacturer (Gemalto)13 In doing so, they were able to steal millions of encryption keys that were meant to secure communication between cell phones. If this is not illegal, it is at the very least highly unethical. This show that the NSA is willing not only to steal information from individuals, but also corporations and other governments.
The other program used by the NSA that I wanted to discuss is one called Prism.
